On the beautiful hillock at the foot of the ancient hills of Shankarwadi, within Dehu Gaon - the pilgrimage town near Dehu Road, Pune, Maharashtra, is situated the abode of Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy (Lord Karthikeya) and His Divine Consorts - Goddesses Valli and Deivayanai over the sacred precincts of the divine Murugan Hill.
Shri Subramaniya Swamy Temple The spiritual sanctity and history of the Shri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, attributed by an intuition of an ardent devotee, that the very spot where the Temple stands, was sanctified by the holy feet of the Sant Tukaram, one of the greatest poet of Marathi literature. It is believed that he sang some of his abhangs, at the very same spot.
Shri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Dehu Road is a magnum opus of the devotees of Dehu Road and adjoining areas, which mainly house the military establishments.
The Temple was meticulously developed by the efforts of so many devotees from the year 1974. The foundation stone for the Temple was laid by Brig. Mr. C. Sundaram, Controller, CISV, Dehu Road on 14th of March 1975. It was followed by the Bhumi Puja by His Holiness Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Maharaj of Shri Dwaraka Sharada Peetham on 28th of May 1975.
The first phase of the Temple was inaugurated by Col. Mr. P.S.Grewal, Station Commander, Dehu Road Cantonment on 21st of June 1976. Initially the photograph of the Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy was worshipped and daily pujas were performed.
The idol of Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy and His Divine Consorts - Goddesses Valli and Deivayanai were donated by Thavathiru Balamurugan Adimai Swamigal of Arulmigu Balamurugan Thirukkovil, Rathinagiri, Tamil Nadu. The First Kumbhabhishekam was performed on 4th of April 1985 on the Panguni Uthiram day.
Since then, the temple has grown by leaps and bounds. Every year thousands of devotees flock the temple and participate in all the major festivals of the divine Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy. Devotees have generously and significantly contributed for the development activities of the temple.
The primary and the beautifully sculpted temple of the Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy is encompassed by the temples of important deities giving great spiritual significance to the region.
The Prana Prathista of Shirdi Shri Sai Baba Temple took place on 8th of August 1977. It was accordingly inaugurated by Brig. Mr. P.K. Pant, Controller C.I.S.V, Dehu Road.Kakad Aarti is performed everyday and the Palkhi procession of Shri Sai Babas padukas is also performed on every Thursday.
During the visit of His Holiness Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Maharaj of Shri Dwaraka Sharada Peetham, he blessed that Lord Shiva of the Murugan Hill be worshipped as Lord Chandramouliswarar. His prophesies became a reality when the Prana Prathista of Lord Shiva as a Deity was performed on 20th of Feb 2011 and recognized as Lord Chandramouliswarar. Pradosha Puja which falls once in every 15 days is performed for the Lord and his blessings are invoked.
The first 'Jeeranodharana Mahakumbhabhishekam of all deities was performed
contemporaneously on 9th of Feb 1998. The
second 'Jeeranodharana Mahakumbhabhishekam
of all deities was performed contemporaneously on
20th of Feb 2011 along with the
Kumbhabhishekam of Lord
Chandramoulishwarar (Shiva) and
Goddess Thirupurasundari Temple.The
presence of all these powerful deities in one holy
hillock has given a divine intervention, a great
spiritual vibration and positivity which is realized
by devotees who break into tears of joy and ecstasy
by the mere darshan of these powerful deities.
Temple Trust.
The 'Aalaya Thiruppani Kuzhu is
the registered public trust for the temple,
registered under Provisions of Bombay Public Trust
Act, 1950, bearing Registration No. F-859.
The Trust consists of dedicated Trustees and the day
to day affairs are managed by the Managing Committee
of the Trust. The
primary and the beautifully sculpted temple of the
Lord Shri Subramaniya Swamy is
encompassed by the temples of important deities
giving great spiritual significance to the region.anniversary
or other important event on which day, Abhishekam at
all the Sannadhis, would be carried out in the name
of the Devotee and Vibuthi Kumkum prasad sent to the
address of the Devotee.
Kakda Aarthi of Shirdi Sai Baba, is
performed every Thursday at 6.30 a.M.
and Palkhi procession is taken out
by Devotees in the evening at 6.30 p.m.
The major religious functions celebrated for
Shirdi Sai Baba are Ram Navami,
Guru Purnima and Dassera.
Sahasranama Archana of
Shirdi Sai Baba is conducted on the last
Sunday of each month. Special decorations of
Goddess Padmavathi is carried out during
the 9 days of Navratri and each day
has a special Alankaram with
Haldi Kumkum, Vegetables,
Fruits etc. The Alankaram
of Devi is very painstakingly
undertaken.
